Stuart R. Erlenbush is a
retired Illinois State Police (ISP) Lieutenant recognized as
a critical incident, homeland security, and terrorism
expert. With years of experience as the Commander of the
Illinois State Police Critical Incident Response Command and
as the Chief Hostage Negotiator for the agency, Erlenbush
has participated in hundreds of high risk critical incidents
transcending local, state, and federal jurisdictions. As a
primary member of the Governor’s Illinois Terrorism Task
Force, Senior Terrorism Advisor for ISP, and the architect
and first Commander of the State of Illinois Weapons of Mass
Destruction Team, Erlenbush’s vast experience makes him
uniquely qualified to provide consulting services to both
the public and private sectors. As a trainer, Erlenbush
prepares and facilitates realistic Weapons of Mass
Destruction scenarios for tactical police SWAT Teams and
offers training seminars and lectures covering a variety of
topics. Additionally, Critical Incident Management L.L.P.
(CIM) provides terrorism planning assistance to local
units of government and private industry regarding site
security audits and terrorism preparedness. CIM has
the practical experience and understanding that brings
multiple disciplines together to provide a united,
coordinated response to a critical incident or terrorism
